FAQ
A: Yes. The initial estimate is free.
Q: How many years experience do you have? A: Over 18 years.
Q: Are you insured and licensed? A: Yes
Q: What is a per square foot price? A: This is an estimating process usually used in new construction that accounts for a 1 foot by 1 foot area (1 square foot). It is usually not accurate but used for rough estimating. BRC still does this process a little old fashion we still break down the project piece by piece and build our pricing rather than chancing an average price. It's not fair to our customers to give them a make believe price and then change on them later.
Q: Does BRC use sub-contractors? A: Yes. While we do cabinets and carpentry in house we do use sub-contractors for many specialized items. Examples would be plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc. The fact is today there are many small companies that have focused learning, training and becoming an expert in their trade, which makes it easier and more cost effective to complete complicated projects. We only hire properly licensed and insured trades that have been in business at least 4 years with many references.
Q: Who is the TRCC and are you licensed by them? A: Texas Residential Construction Commission (TRCC). Yes we were registered with them. The TRCC was a state registration program that monitored builders and remodelers and any warranty claims against a builder or remodeler. The TRCC program as of Sept 2009 is no longer a state program and builders and remodelers no longer need to register with them.
Q: Do you offer a warranty?
A: Yes. We give a standard one year warranty on all of our projects, a two year warranty on all HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing, and a 10 year warranty on any structure (Foundation/Building). These were the guide lines given by the TRCC and although they no longer exist BRC is still providing the same warranty.
Q: Do you only work for homeowners?
A: No. We also work as a specialty carpentry and cabinetry trade for other contractors, builders, and remodelers and of course homeowners. We also work for landlords, property managers, and developers, commercial and residential.
Q: Is there a job to big or too small for BRC?
A: There is no job to big or too small; however, we will not take on all projects (yes as hard as it is to believe we have turned down projects). We believe in 100% quality and 100% customer satisfaction, we will not bend these rules. The number one reason quality and customer satisfaction slide on any construction project is due to the contractor taking on too many projects at one time. It can be a financial strain as well as impossible to properly manage every project at once. We have had to turn jobs down or create waiting lists but when this is the case we are doing it for your protection and our reputation.
Q: Do you offer financing or take credit cards?A: We do not offer financing; however we can process your credit card through Pay Pal on a case by case basis.
Q: Does BRC build homes?A: Yes. We build custom homes on your land and will build in Bexar and surrounding counties.
